A WordPress Plugin That Captures Customer Address When They Log Into Your Website
Many businesses struggle with collecting and using a customer’s address for various reasons. Sometimes it’s because they want to ensure the service they provide is delivered to the customer. Other times, it’s because they want to ensure the customer receives future mailings about their products or services. Whatever the case may be, having the customer’s address on file is important and can help improve both their experience and yours! That’s why we’ve created a wordpress plugin that will capture the customer’s address when they log into your website and store it in your database. So whether you’re looking for an e-commerce solution or just want to create an online store, this is a worthwhile plugin to consider.
Why You Should Use This Plugin
This plugin is worthwhile because it helps solve several key problems that a business can encounter. First, it helps ensure the customer receives the service they expect. Second, it helps improve the customer’s experience by reducing the number of times they have to enter their address. Third, it helps track and follow up with customers about their orders. Finally, it helps businesses get closer to their customers by ensuring they stay in touch with their customers on a near-daily basis.
How It Works
As a wordpress user, you’ll need to do three things to get this plugin configured to work. First, you’ll need to install the Geolocation+ plugin. Second, you’ll need to create an account with MyGeo. Third, you’ll need to install the Geolocation+ extension for your browser (for example, Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox).
At this point, you should be able to locate your store (if you have one) and log in to the dashboard. From there, you can view your store’s information and address, as well as configure the plugin’s settings.
The Pros
This plugin has several advantages over what it replaces. First, the customer no longer has to enter their address manually. Second, the business can easily access and update the customer’s information on file. Third, the business can follow up with the customer about their orders and follow up with new product suggestions and discounts. Finally, since this is a widely used and trusted plugin, customers can feel more at ease giving their information.
On the downside, this plugin also has some disadvantages. First, the customer must have a device with location access and must opt-in for the service (through MyGeo or similar services) to use this plugin. Second, the customer must have an active Google account and be logged into the Google app on their device in order to use this plugin. Third, the customer must be using Google Chrome or Firefox (you can’t be too specific) to take advantage of this plugin. Finally, as is the case with most plugins, you can’t be sure this will always work as intended. Nevertheless, these are all minor drawbacks compared to the overall usefulness of this plugin.

How To Configure This Plugin
Once you’ve got the plugin installed and configured, every time the customer logs into your site, their address will be automatically captured and stored in your database.
You can access this information by going to your customer’s profile and pressing the “Edit” button beside their address. Doing this will pull up their address information in a modal box.
Additional Notes
This plugin will only work if your website has a wordpress backend. So if you’re looking for a plugin that will capture and input a customer’s address whenever they visit any webpage, this is not the plugin for you. However, if your website is purely made up of wordpress pages with no other platforms (for example, not a single html page), this plugin will work just fine and you won’t have any problems whatsoever.
In addition to Google and MyGeo, this plugin also requires you to have a Google account. And it doesn’t currently work with Apple devices (yet). So if you’re planning on using this plugin on an iOS device (such as an iPad or iPhone), you’ll need to look for a different solution.
Nonetheless, this solution is still very useful and will help your business get closer to its customers. And sometimes that’s all you need.
