How to Display Facebook Feed on WordPress Website

You can use several WordPress plugins to display various content types as clickable links on your site. One such plugin is Reveal, which we’ll use in this example.

Activate the Plugin

You first need to activate the plugin on your site. You can do this by going to your WordPress Plugin menu and clicking on the Reveal button. Alternatively, you can put a link to the plugin’s homepage on your site’s footer and remind visitors that content is revealed there.

Configure the Plugin

After you’ve activated the plugin, you can use the Settings button on the plugin’s admin page to configure it. You’ll find a variety of options under the General Settings tab. First, you can determine whether or not you want the plugin to display images in your content.

If you decide that you do want images in your content, you can enable the Post thumbnail option under the Settings page. Once you’ve done this, you can go back to the Content section of the admin page and choose a Facebook feed from the drop-down menu.

As discussed above, you can use the plugin to display any content type that you choose. So, if you have a food blog and you want to display recipes as clickable links, you can do so. Additionally, you can use the plugin to display a video, image, or anything in between.

However, you should not use the plugin if your content is highly promotional in nature. Essentially, you should use this plugin for non-promotional content only.

Add Content to the List

You can add multiple Facebook feeds to the list by clicking on the Add button in the plugin’s admin section. This will open up a box where you can type in the URLs of the Facebook pages you want to add.

For example, if you have a sports blog and you want to display updates from different sports leagues, you can enter their URLs in the plugin’s admin section.

When you’re done entering the URLs, just click on the Save button at the bottom of the box. You’ll find this feature very useful if you plan on adding many Facebook pages to your list. Otherwise, you can click on the Delete button to remove one or more feeds from the list.

Display Facebook Pages

Once you’ve added one or more Facebook pages to your list, you can use the Preview button at the bottom of the admin page to preview the content of each feed. Just click on the blue arrow next to any feed to see its content.

You can edit the content of any given feed by clicking on its arrow.

If you decide that the content within a given feed doesn’t look interesting or helpful to your site’s audience, you can click on the trashcan icon next to it to hide it. You can do the same with any other feed you don’t want to display on your site.

As you can see above, the preview feature in the plugin allows you to see a snapshot of each Facebook page in your list. This way, you can determine whether or not to include that page in your site’s content.

Remove Content From the List

If you find a Facebook page that isn’t worth displaying on your site, you can click on the trashcan icon next to it to remove it. You can do this with multiple pages by clicking on the trashcan next to the box containing the relevant URLs. Alternatively, you can click on the down arrow next to any given URL to see a list of the pages that link to that URL. You can remove all the pages that link to it in one fell swoop.

After removing a URL from your list, you can click on the button labeled “No Feeds” to return to the previous page containing your Facebook feeds.

Manage Feeds

From the above step-by-step instructions, it is pretty clear how to use the plugin. However, if you’re looking for a simpler way of doing things, you can use the plugin’s Dashboard to view and manage your feeds. This section of the admin page is where you’ll find all the feeds you’ve added to the list. From here, you can click on any given feed to open its content in a new tab.

As you can see above, the Dashboard area of the plugin’s admin page contains all the feeds you’ve added to the list. Just click on any given feed to open its content in a new tab. You can also use this area to manage your Facebook’s Page settings. This way, you can determine whether or not you want the public to be able to see your Page’s content.

Summary

The plugin we discussed above allows you to quickly and easily add different Facebook pages to your WordPress site’s content. Once you’ve done so, you can use the settings to determine how you want the content to appear. Whether you have a food blog or a travel blog, you can use the plugin to make each one a bit more personal.
