How to Build a Website with Divi?
Looking for an HTML5 Divi theme to build your next website project? You’ve come to the right place! In this article, we will walk you through the basics of building a basic website using the Divi theme by WordPress.com. We will explain everything from the very basics, like what is a website, to the most advanced technical details, like how to integrate Google Pay among others.
What is a Website?
A website is an online location that presents information and/or offers products for sale to people across the world.
The purpose of a website is to spread information to people who are interested in finding that information. A website can be a single page with some text and an image or it can be an elaborate layout with multiple pages and a lot of content.
Why Divi?
The Divi theme is one of the most popular HTML5 themes out there, which makes it a great choice for anyone interested in creating a website. Let’s take a quick look at why it’s so popular.
- It’s very easy to use
- It has a modern and minimalist look
- It has a drag and drop functionality that allows for more customization than you’d get with a classic theme
- The Divi theme is highly mobile-friendly
- It’s very lightweight
- And it’s completely free!
Basic Building Process
Now that we’ve covered the definition of a website and the various reasons why Divi is a popular choice among web designers, let’s get into the nitty-gritty of actually constructing a website using the Divi theme.
The basic building process for a website is similar to that of any other WordPress project. You will need to register for a free WordPress account to start the process. Once you’ve registered, you can click on the Dashboard icon to log in.
From there, you can either choose to launch the Divi theme or install the Divi theme from WordPress.com. The choice is entirely up to you, but we recommend installing the theme so you can fully take advantage of all its features. If you do choose to launch the Divi theme, you will need to activate it and click on the Customize icon to get started.
When you’re working with the Divi theme, you are presented with an entirely new graphical user interface (GUI) that makes it easy to navigate. The interface is highly configurable and allows for even more customization than a classic WordPress dashboard. You’ve got options such as colors, fonts, and much more.
From there, you can start creating content for your website by clicking on the plus icon in the top left to add a new page. A blank page will appear before your eyes and you can begin typing.
Now, you don’t have to fill out the entire page with content, you can start small and work your way up. When you reach the top level, you will see a section called Layout which gives you the option to choose the template you want to use for your site. You can use one of the many pre-designed layouts or you can create your own.
From there, you can add your content in the usual way, and when you’re done, you can click on the Save icon to finalize your work. That’s it! You’ve just built your very first website using the Divi theme.
An Important Note About FTP Clients
If you’re using an FTP client to upload the site’s files to your web server, you will need to keep in mind that not all FTP clients are created equal. Some clients are more secure and easier to use than others, so make sure you’re using a reputable client that is up to date with all the latest security patches. You don’t want to leave your site vulnerable to hackers or any other type of data breach.
Now that you’re equipped with the basics of building a website, let’s move on to more advanced topics like SEO and Google Adsense.
