Step one: Download and install WordPress

To install WordPress, visit the official website and download the latest version for your operating system. For this tutorial, we will be using WordPress 4.0. Once downloaded, open the archive and extract the contents to a server named “wordpress” (without the quotes).

On a MAC, this would be a simple task – just double-click the WordPress installer to run it, and you’re good to go.
