How to Create a Website Using WordPress with No Experience

WordPress is the most popular content management system (CMS) in the world. Many people use it to create personal websites or small businesses’ websites.

However, not everyone is blessed with talent in the coding or design arena, which makes it difficult to create a beautiful, fully functioning and functional website using WordPress. The good news is that you can use WordPress to create a basic website that looks decent and functions properly, without needing any design or development skills.

In this article, we will discuss how to create a basic website using WordPress. The advantages of using this tool are that it’s free, open-source and very easy to use. Furthermore, you don’t need any previous experience to get started.

Install WordPress

First, you will need to visit the WordPress website and download the latest version. Alternatively, you can visit the WordPress distribution website and download the installer. The best approach is to use the web browser on your phone so you can easily reach the website from any computer.

Once you have the installer on your computer, you can launch it and follow the on-screen instructions to install WordPress on your local server. During installation, you will need to choose a Hosting provider and a domain for your website. Once you launch the installer, it will automatically install WordPress on your server.

Create a Login Page

Before you start building your website, you will need to create a login page. The login page will be the first page visitors see when they visit your website, so it’s important that it is easy to navigate and understand. To create a login page, visit the dashboard of your WordPress website and navigate to the Settings section. Under Settings, click on the Security option.

You will see a warning informing you that WordPress is not security-compliant, as it does not use a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol. To create a login page that is 100% secure, you will need to switch to a hosting provider that offers SSL certificate support. For more information on how to create a fully-compliant login page, visit the WordPress website and read the documentation in the Learn section.

Build Your Blog

Now that you have your login page created, you can start building your blog. To do this, visit the dashboard of your WordPress website and click on the Add New button in the top right corner. A popup window will open, allowing you to choose either a post or page to begin with.

If you choose a post, you will see a series of options appear below the search bar, including Date and Categories. You can select either one of these to filter your search results. Once you have selected a date and category, you can click on the Create Post button.

This will bring you to the Post editor, where you can begin typing your new blog post. Once you have completed writing your post, you can click on the Preview Post button to view it in the preview screen.

If you choose a page, you will see a menu with three tabs at the top of the page: Events, Places and Phone. You can use these tabs to sort your content.

The Events tab allows you to organize your events and create a list of upcoming and recently held events. You can link to websites and social media accounts for more information about the events.

The Places tab allows you to organize and display your locations on a map, with the option to input the address or GPS coordinates for each location.

The Phone tab provides you with a list of phone numbers you can use to contact your event organizers, places, and more.

After you have created a blog post or a few blog posts, you can click on the Publish button in the top right corner to display your blog on the front page. Publishing a blog post may take some time to appear on the front page. When it does, you can click on the Read More link to view the full article.

Optional: Create an About Page

In addition to your blog, you can create an about page to provide additional information about your website. An about page provides a space for you to write a short bio about yourself or your company. You can also add a picture of yourself or a representative to the about page.

To create an about page, visit the Dashboard section of your WordPress website and click on the Settings link in the top right corner. Under Settings, you will see a shortcode called About. To use this shortcode, simply click on the button that says Hello World! and you will see a piece of text and an image appear at the end of the page.

This shortcode provides you with a place to add more content, so you can continue to build and add value to your site.

Optional: Create a Contact Page

Your contact page provides your visitors with a simple way to get in touch with you. This could be through your email address, social media accounts or even a physical mailing address. To create a contact page, visit the Dashboard section of your WordPress website and click on the Settings link in the top right corner. Under Settings, you will see a shortcode called Contact.

Once you have clicked on the Contact button, you will see a small window pop up with contact details for your WordPress support team. If you don’t have a support team yet, you can use this section to create an email form, which will be a simple way to get in touch with you.

WordPress provides you with a great base to build a website, even if you don’t have any design or development skills. All you need is a reliable Hosting provider and a decent WiFi connection to begin with.
