How to Embed Another Website Blog Page into Your WordPress Site Using Visual Composer

Often, when setting up a new WordPress site, you’ll want to include another blog page from an existing site. You can use the Content widget to easily do this, but if you want more control over how the page looks, you can use the Visual Composer plugin to create a unique, fully integrated blog page on your website.

Visual Composer

If you’re not familiar, Visual Composer is a free plugin that allows you to easily build, manage, and publish content across platforms. It’s a fully responsive WordPress page builder that’s easy to use for anyone and even easier to implement into your own theme.

You can use it to create a blog page that’s integrated with your existing blog or to create a unique stand-alone page where you can promote a product, service, or event.

Once you’ve installed the plugin, you’ll need to login and go to Settings | Visual Composer. You can use the handy drag and drop interface to easily add assets such as headers and footers, images, columns, and more to your page. When you’re done, click on Publish to preview your work.

You can use the WordPress button (it looks like a flower) on the toolbar above the page to install the plugin directly from WordPress.com. If you want to install the plugin from within WordPress, click the Get Plugin button and scroll down to the Visual Composer section.

How to Embed Another Website Blog Page into Your WordPress Site

Let’s get started creating our blog page. From the dashboard, go to Add New to add a new page or click on My Blog to see the list of existing blog posts on your site. You can also click on Edit next to any of the blog posts to view the page’s content in Edit mode.

In the middle of the page, you’ll see a gray area that’s currently empty. This is where we’ll add our new blog post. Click on the Web | Blog icon to the left of the page to activate the sidebar.

Above the sidebar, you’ll see the Add New button. Click on it to add a new blog post. In the Visual Composer section of your WordPress admin, you’ll see a small blue box next to the New Post button. This is where you can enter the content for your new blog post.

Enter a title for your new blog post in the Title area and click on the Publish button.

Adding a Basic Blog Post

Let’s add a basic blog post about the iPhone. We’ll use the Blog article widget to add our blog post into the middle of the blog page. Once we’ve added the article, we can use the Web | Blog icon below it to edit the content.

The iPhone is a legendary luxury phone that’s been around for almost two decades. It originally debuted in 2007 and was completely redesigned a few years later.

People love the iPhone because it’s such a well-designed and comfortable device. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a designer or a regular user, the iPhone is extremely accessible. It has excellent usability and is also very secure because it relies on Apple software and hardware. Finally, the iPhone is extremely versatile, as it can run just about any app you can think of.

You can use the following article for your own blog post or to add some more content into your WordPress site:

The Ultimate Guide to the Apple iPhone

The article will appear in its original format and can be used in its entirety, with no changes needed.

As you can see in the above screenshot, we’ve added our blog post about the iPhone into the middle of our page. In the Visual Composer section of your WordPress admin, you’ll see the small blue box next to the Blog article widget. This is where you can enter the content for your new blog post.

The article will appear above the Add New button when you’re viewing a page on your site. You can also click on the button itself to go directly to the Blog article without having to leave the page you’re currently viewing. If you ever leave the page you’re on, you’ll see the article below the Add New button.

Image for the Blog Post

Adding a picture to a blog post is an easy way to make it more interesting. Furthermore, having an image connected to a blog post will make the content more “real.” It will give the impression that you’re presenting actual events that happened instead of just writing about it.

To add an image to our blog post, we will use the Gallery widget. Click on the Add New button to add a new gallery to the dashboard. In the Visual Composer section of your WordPress admin, you’ll see the small blue box next to the Gallery widget. This is where you can enter the content for your new gallery.

Once you’ve added your gallery, you’ll see thumbnail images for each of the images in your gallery. To add these images to our blog post, click on the Add New button again to add a new Article widget with our image. Now when we preview our blog post, we’ll see our glorious image in the middle of the page.

If you’ve ever used the WordPress Media Library, you’ll know how easy it is to add images from here directly into your blog post. Simply click on the Insert Image button and select the image you want to use from the media library. Don’t worry, the image will not be inserted yet, you’ll simply be able to edit it in your post once it’s been uploaded.

Video For the Blog Post

Adding a video to a blog post is pretty similar to adding an image. All you need is a YouTube account and a video editor software such as WorX, VideoHacks, or Squid Pro. To add a video to our blog post, we will use the Video widget. Click on the Add New button to add a new Video widget with the source of our video.

The above screenshot shows the Video widget with the source of our video. To add the video to our blog post, navigate to the video’s source site or download the file directly into your computer. Then, click on the Insert Video button to upload the video into your blog post. Once you’ve inserted the video, you can style it the same way you would style a photo.

Social Shares

To increase the exposure of our blog post, we’ll use the Sharing widget to connect our blog post to our social media accounts. To do this, navigate to your blog’s Settings | Sharing page where you can view your social media accounts. Then, click on the drop-down menu to the right of the Sharing button and select Embed code. Alternatively, you can copy and paste the code from the Twitter, LinkedIn, or Facebook sharing buttons on our blog post itself.

Once you’ve connected your social media accounts, you’ll see sharing buttons on your blog post. This is very easy to do and it can increase the exposure of your blog post by allowing readers to easily share it with their friends. This, in turn, can increase the number of people who read your blog post and hopefully, leads to greater conversion.
