How to Add a Page to Your Website on WordPress

Creating a website can be a exciting process, but it can also be a daunting one. The first step is to figure out what you want your site to be about, which can be a challenging task. Once you have a good idea of what you want the site to be about, you can move on to the next step, which is building it. Once you have built your site using a content management system (CMS), such as WordPress, you will have a blank canvas waiting to be populated with content.

You don’t need to be a professional web designer to make your site look good, but you do need to have a basic understanding of what makes a website work. Once you have put a bit of effort into researching the topic, you will be able to build a functional and attractive website with little to no experience. This article will tell you how to add a page to your website on WordPress so you can get started.

The Different Ways that You Can Add a Page

WordPress makes it easy for you to add a new page to your site by giving you several options. You can add a new page through the WordPress dashboard, through a module in the WordPress frame, or through a 3rd-party plugin. All three of these methods achieve the same goal, which is to let you add new content to your site without needing to know HTML code.

The WordPress dashboard is the primary place that you will want to visit when editing your site. The dashboard gives you access to a variety of content management features, such as the ability to add new posts and pages. You can also configure various settings for your site through the dashboard.

To add a new page through the WordPress dashboard, navigate to Settings > Reading > Pages. From here, you can either create a new page or edit an existing one. To create a new page, click on the New Page button. To edit an existing page, click on the Edit button next to the page that you wish to edit. In both cases, a Basic Settings form will appear, as shown in the image below.

The Basic Settings form will give you the option of using a variety of WordPress website themes, as well as a customizable menu for your site. Use a Standard Page

The first option listed under Basic Settings is Use a Standard Page. When you create a new page using this option, WordPress will give you a standard, pre-designed layout. You don’t have to worry about the look and feel of your site, because WordPress will handle everything for you. You just have to fill in the content.

The benefit of using a standard page is that you don’t need to worry about any design flaws that the template may have. In addition, because WordPress takes care of all the details, creating a standard page is a lot less stressful than creating a customized page. You can save time by using a standard page, and you can often find a template that suits your needs.

Use a Half-Page Tutorial Page

If your theme doesn’t include a fixed width option, you can use Use a Half-Page Tutorial Page to create a narrower layout that is only half the width of the browser window. When using this option, you will need to specify how many columns you want the page to have, as shown in the image below.

Here, you can also decide how many rows the page should have. If you choose to have the page have three columns, for example, and the browser window is 849 pixels wide, the page will only be 421 pixels wide, as in the image below.

The advantage to using a half-page tutorial page is that you get to have a narrower layout, which can be easier to use on a mobile device. In addition, because the content is more in the foreground, you can put more emphasis on the content and less on the template itself.

Use a Fullwidth Tutorial Page

If your theme doesn’t include a fixed width option, you can use Use a Fullwidth Tutorial Page to create a longer layout that extends the full width of the browser window. When using this option, you will need to specify how many columns you want the page to have, as shown in the image below.

Here, you can also decide how many rows the page should have. If you choose to have the page have three columns, for example, and the browser window is 1224 pixels wide, the page will be 684 pixels wide, as in the image below.

The advantage of using a fullwidth tutorial page is that you can have a wider layout than you could using a half-page tutorial page, which may be easier to see on a larger monitor or tablet device. The drawback is that when viewing the page on a mobile device, the content may be cut off on the right side, because there isn’t enough room for the entire page. To prevent the content from being cut off, make sure that the column break appears near the center of the page, as shown in the image below.

Use a Image Page

An image page is a blank page with an image placed in the middle of it. To create one, simply go to Settings > Reading > Pages, and click on the Add New button. A Basic Settings form will appear, as shown in the image below.

This option is ideal if you have a lot of space on which to work, but still want to keep the content in the foreground. In addition, you can give the page a description, as well as set the minimum WordPress version to be used on your site. By putting the focus on the image, you can engage your audience while maintaining a clean look to your site.

To add an image to your site, simply go to Settings > Reading > Pages and click on the Add New button. A basic Settings form will appear, as shown in the image below.

Use a Video Page

It’s always great when a website allows you to have multiple choices for the type of content that you want to show on your site. You can use Use a Video Page to create a shorter tutorial video to explain your product or service. When using this option, you will need to determine the video’s height and width.
