How to Activate a Website from WordPress – Step by Step Instructions

If you have just installed WordPress on your website and want to activate the website immediately, you can follow these step-by-step instructions to do just that.

Step 1: Visit the WordPress Admin Panel

The first step is to log in to your WordPress dashboard. To get there, either click on the logo in the upper left hand corner of your screen or scroll to the top of the page and click on the Edit button in the upper right hand corner.

You should now see the dashboard for WordPress.

Step 2: Click on the Web tab

Next, you should click on the Web tab at the top of the WordPress dashboard to go to the hosting provider’s configuration page. At this point, you can either edit the settings directly from there or click on the blue button next to the domain name in order to continue to the next step.

Step 3: Login to your cPanel account

Once you are on the hosting provider’s configuration page, you should see a login box at the top of the page. Just type in your cPanel username and password and click on the OK button to log in.

Once you are logged in, you should see a page with multiple domains listed. Click on the drop-down menu next to the domain name you want to activate and select Edit.

Step 4: Choose the “Automatically Activate” Setting

Now, on the next page, you should select the Automatically Activate option under the Beginner section. Note: You will not be able to change this setting once you have made it active, so make sure you are happy with it before doing anything else.

When you are finished, just click on the Save Changes button at the top of the page to continue to the next step.

Step 5: Back to the WordPress dashboard

After you click on the Save Changes button, you will be returned to the WordPress dashboard. You can either click on the logo in the upper left hand corner of your screen to get back to the dashboard or click on the three horizontal stripes in the upper right hand corner of the page. Either way, you should now be back at the WordPress dashboard. (Note: If you are not automatically taken back to the WordPress dashboard, you can also click on the Edit button in the upper right hand corner of the page to get there directly.)

Step 6: Test the settings

In order to test your settings, click on the three horizontal stripes in the upper right hand corner of the page. You should now see the domain you registered with WordPress. If not, you can either click on the three horizontal stripes a second time or on the logo in the upper left hand corner of your screen in order to get to the dashboard.

Once you are at the dashboard, you can either click on the three horizontal stripes in the upper right hand corner of the page in order to return to the hosting provider’s configuration page or click on the Settings icon in the top left corner of the page. If you are still on the WordPress dashboard, you can click on the Settings link in the menu on the left side of the page in order to get to the WordPress administration area. Here you can find the IP address and login information for your website.

Step 7: Login to My cPanel account

While still on the WordPress dashboard, you should click on the Settings icon to go to the WordPress administration area. Here you can find the IP address and login information for your website. Just replace the information with your own and click on the Save Changes button at the bottom of the area to continue to the final step.

Step 8: Log back in to your cPanel account and check your email

Once you have saved the changes, you should be taken back to the hosting provider’s configuration page. At this point, log in to your cPanel account and check your email. You should see a notification that there is a new email from WordPress. Just click on the button to confirm receipt.

Once you confirm the receipt of the email, you will be automatically logged back in to your cPanel account. At this point, you can click on the link in the email in order to log back in to your WordPress dashboard and test the settings you just configured. If all is well, you can click on the Done button at the top of the page to complete the process.
