How to Create a Wedding Website on WordPress

Creating a wedding website on WordPress can be a lot of work, but it’s worth it. A wedding website can be a great tool to keep track of all the important details of your big day, from the guest list to the favors, and even the invitations. If you want to do everything on your own, without having to pay for outside help, then this article is for you.

Choose A Theme For Your Site

The first step to creating a wedding website is to choose a theme for the site. If you have experience with WordPress, then you should know that there are hundreds of free themes available, which you can use to launch your site. When choosing a theme for your site, you should look for simplicity and ease of use first, and then you can choose a design that is relaxing and beautiful. It’s always good to go for a theme that is mobile-friendly too, as people are often browsing websites on their phones these days. To make your life easier, it’s best to go for a free theme.

Set Up Your Database And Install WordPress

After you’ve chosen a theme for your site, you should set up your database and install WordPress on your webserver. Setting up a database will take a few minutes, and installing WordPress will take even less time. WordPress is one of the most popular and flexible blogging platforms around, and it makes setting up a blog or website super easy. Once you’ve got WordPress installed on your website, you can start creating your blog or website. From there, you can use the WordPress dashboard to make edits to your site and to add new content whenever you want (more on this below).

Decide On A Name For Your Blog

When you’ve launched your WordPress site, you should have a chance to come up with a blog name for the site. If you Google search for the name you will find dozens of websites with the same name, so make sure that you choose a unique, relevant name for your blog. Once you’ve found the perfect name for your blog, use this as your blog’s home page’s URL (website address) in place of the word “wordpress” in the URL of your site. For example, thehomepage of this blog is http://blog.kareemkazemi.com

The reason you want to do this is simple. When someone types in your blog’s URL into a search bar, they will automatically be directed to the home page of your site. So if you want to appear in all the right places when someone types in your site’s URL, then you should use your blog’s home page as the address for your site.

Create Your Blog’s Home Page

The home page of your blog is the first page that visitors will see when they visit your site. It should be informative, yet concise, and it should contain all the essential information about your blog. To create your blog’s home page, click on the Dashboard icon in the top right corner of your WordPress dashboard. From there, you can click on the blue button next to the words “site metrics” to bring up your site’s stats. In the middle of the page, you will see a tab named “Reading.” Click on this to view your blog’s articles. From the articles, you can click on any one of the headlines to read the full article. If you want to create a sense of individuality for your blog, then you should use a different color for the background of your home page than the one you’ve used for the rest of your site. It’s also a good idea to feature a “call to action” element on your home page. This could be a button, a link, or an infographic that encourages readers to do something (for example, subscribe to your blog, leave a comment, or click a link to read more).

Set Up Your Email Signature

Once you’ve launched your blog, you should have the opportunity to set up an email signature for whenever you send out emails to your subscribers or post to your blog. People have grown used to receiving emails from interesting, informed people who clearly know what they’re talking about, so make sure that your emails stand out from the crowd. To set up your email signature, click on the gear icon in the top right corner of your WordPress dashboard. From there, you can choose either plain text or html (we recommend using html) to compose your email’s signature. You can also add a brief bio about yourself and a link to your blog (if you have one).

Publish Your Blog Posts

Once you’ve launched your WordPress site with a fancy new theme and a clever new blog name, you can start publishing your blog posts. To do this, click on the Posts icon in the top right corner of your WordPress dashboard. There you can choose which category you’d like to post to. If you want to write about fashion, you could choose “fashion” as the category for your posts. If you’ve got a specific theme in mind for your site, then you should choose that theme as the “Template” for your blog posts. This will make sure that all your posts are displayed in the same manner, and it can also help you find patterns and ways to improve the design of your site (more on this below). Once you’ve found a pattern you like, then you can click on the little “+ New Post” button to start a new post immediately. To post to your blog, you should use your chosen categories to organize your posts. Going back to the example above, if you want to write about fashion, you could start a blog post with the following heading:

Fashion

Within this post, you could mention a few styles or clothing items that you love, such as:

  • florals
  • cocktails
  • vintage
  • print
  • boyish charm
  • flower crowns

Then, you could provide a few links to specific items that you’re wearing or offering, such as:

  • This floral print dress is so gorgeous, and it’s on sale for such a low price! You can find similar dresses at other retail stores, but they’re usually more expensive.
  • If you want to create a relaxing atmosphere at your wedding, then you could wear white, soft, flowing fabrics.
  • Don’t hesitate to dress up your wedding party! It will make them feel more comfortable and will add a little magic to the day.
  • If you’ve been blogging for a while, then you probably have a sizable audience already. This is a great way to expose your blog to more people.

Responsive Design

If you’re designing a blog or website that is intended to look good on any device (desktop, tablet, or mobile), then you should use a framework called responsive design. Responsive design basically means that the layout of the site will change based on the device on which it is being viewed. For example, if you’re on a mobile phone, then the site will be somewhat small and fit to the screen. If you’re on a computer, then the site will be larger and will fit the screen. If you’re on a tablet, then the site will be even larger and will fill the entire screen (more on this below).

When using a responsive framework, you should opt for a fluid grid system. With a fluid grid system, the designer can adjust the layout of the website based on whatever device is viewing it. A good example of a fluid grid system is Karen Millen White. The designer offers several beautiful wedding websites as part of their offering, all of which are built on top of a responsive framework. This allows for quick changes to be made to the layout of the website, as well as making the design appear more modern and up to date.

Add More Content To Your Blog

If you’ve published your blog posts using the above information, then you can start adding more content to your blog. To add more content, simply find an article that you think is interesting and well written, add a comment, and then click on the “Publish” button to send it to your blog.

Doing all of this yourself may take a while, but the end result will be worth it. If you follow these simple steps, you will be able to create a beautiful, functional blog in no time at all. And don’t worry, future generations will thank you.
