How to Delete Your Site from HostGator with a Single Click

HostGator shared a tutorial with us on how to delete your WordPress site with a single click. They’ve made it easy for you to use their Hosting Plus package to get your site up and running in no time. You’ll need to have a WordPress account to follow along. But, once your site is up and running you can delete it from here as well if you choose.

Step 1: Select the Hosting Plan That Suits Your Needs.

You’ll need to go back to the HostGator home page and find the plan that suits your needs. Their cheapest plan is just $2.95/mo. So, if you’re just getting started and don’t need the perks that their most expensive plan offers you’ll be better off sticking with the basics. Don’t worry, you can still upgrade once you get going.

Step 2: Install WordPress To Begin Building Your Website.

Once you’ve selected the plan that suits your needs you’ll be brought to a page with a big green button that says Install WordPress. Click that button to begin the WordPress installation process. During this process you’ll be prompted to pick a name for your site (if you haven’t already).

Once the process is completed you’ll be brought back to the dashboard. Congratulations, you’ve just installed WordPress. Now, you’ll need to connect your site to an email address so that you can start receiving notifications about new content and blog posts. During this process you’ll be asked to select a security question that will be required to login to your account. Selecting an easy question will make it easier for you to recover your account if you forget your password.

Step 3: Configure WordPress To Your Needs.

The next step is to go into your WordPress dashboard. From here you can make adjustments to settings such as email delivery preferences and the appearance of your site. You can choose from a variety of beautiful and functional themes to customize the appearance of your site. Don’t forget, you can also choose a design that is completely unique to you and your brand. This is a useful tool for people who want to create a blog around their passions, hobbies, interests or careers. They can use tools like WordPress to easily curate and share their content across social media platforms.

Step 4: Activate Your WordPress Account.

Now that you have WordPress installed and configured you’ll need to activate your account. To do this, go to your dashboard and click on the profile icon next to your username. Then, click on the Activate button that appears. Congratulations, your WordPress account is now active! You can log in and make any needed adjustments to your site.
