1. The Dashboard

Here, you can access all the tools and resources required to create and launch your blog or website. You will see four main areas of the Dashboard:

1. Themes — these are the colorful templates that make up the appearance of your website. A theme can make a huge difference in the overall look and feel of your site, so it’s worth finding one you like.

Themes come with a variety of pre-designed pages and objects that you can use to create your blog or website. You don’t necessarily need to use them all, but it’s good to have options.

2. New Post

Underneath the Dashboard, you will see New Post. This is where you can publish new blog posts, articles, and other content. When you click on New Post, you will see this window:

Here, you can quickly and easily create a blog post, article, or other content that will display on your site. Once you have the post or page created, you can click the Publish button to make it live on your site. From here, you can edit the post in any way you see fit before hitting the Publish button again.

3. Media

Next to New Post, you will see Media. This is where you can insert and manage media objects (photos, videos, and audio files) on your site. You can click on the three dots next to Video in order to access the Media library.

Here, you can search for and find any media object you want to use on your site. Once you have your item(s) in the library, you can click to play, pause, or edit the video as needed. Like with other content, you can click the red arrow next to any media item to insert it into your post.

4. Search

Finally, we have Search. This is where you can enter keywords and phrases that will lead potential readers to your content. You can use the Google Adwords Keyword Tool to easily find a list of popular keywords and phrases that can be used to market your blog or website.

When you enter keywords and phrases into the search bar, you will see a number of suggested results at the top of the page. You can click on any of these to go directly to that website’s content (usually optimized for SEO — search engine optimization) and find the information you’re looking for.

By entering keywords and phrases into the search bar, you can get an idea of the general content of your blog or website and see what else is out there on the internet that relates to your niche.
