Delete Your WordPress Account

If you have a paid WordPress account, then the process of deleting it is as easy as clicking a button. However, if you have a free WordPress account, then you will need to go through an additional step to confirm your email address so the delete button will actually work. Once you have confirmed your email, it is quite easy to delete your account. Just visit the following link and click the confirm button to delete your WordPress account: 

 

  • For paid users:
    • Go to your user name at WordPress.com
    • Click on the profile
    • Then click on the link that says “Delete My Account”
    • Your account will then be deleted

 

  • For free users:
    • Go to the following link and click the “Confirm my Account” button: 
      • Your email address will then be verified
      • You will then be taken to the Settings page. From there, you can click on the Link button at the top to reach the My Account page
      • On the My Account page, you can click on the link that says “Delete My Account”
      • Your account will then be deleted

     

    If you want to remove WordPress from a site completely, then you need to follow the steps listed above. However, for paid users, you can use the “Forgot my password” link to reset your password and then use the “Forgot my username” link to update your username. From there, you can confirm your email address and then follow the steps above to delete your account.
