How to Upload WordPress Backup to New Website

There are three things you need to do if you want to upload your WordPress backup to a new website:

  • Set the WordPress version
  • Set the Theme
  • Set the plugins

Let’s take a look at each step.

Set The WordPress version

The first thing you need to do is decide what version of WordPress you will use to restore your site. There are a few things you need to keep in mind when making this decision:

  • The version of WordPress you use should be the latest release
  • Make sure that the version of WordPress you use is supported by your theme and plugins
  • If you use a free WordPress installation, make sure you upgrade to the latest version after restoring your site
  • If possible, use a version of WordPress that is optimized for mobile devices

There are a few key points to keep in mind here. First, you want to use the latest version of WordPress. Second, you want to use a supported version of WordPress. Third, you want to use a version of WordPress that is optimized for mobile devices. If you are following these suggestions, you will enjoy a smooth and quick upload experience without any unexpected glitches.

Set The Theme

Once you have decided on what version of WordPress you will use to restore your site, it’s time to choose a theme to use in the process. The theme you choose will greatly affect the look and feel of your site. When choosing a WordPress theme, make sure you keep these things in mind:

  • The theme should be free and clean of any clutter or bloat
  • The theme should be responsive so that it looks good on all devices (mobile, tablet, and computer)
  • The theme should be easy to use
  • The theme should have a clear and simple layout
  • The theme’s documentation should be clear and comprehensive

Many WordPress themes come with a demo version you can use to try out the theme before purchasing it. Just make sure you check out the demo before buying the product. If you find anything unsatisfactory in the demo, you will end up frustrated when trying to install the plugin and activate the theme. For this reason, WordPress strongly recommends reading documentation before installing the plugin and activating the theme. It may seem redundant, but following these simple steps will save you a great deal of time and frustration.

Set The Plugins

The second step you need to take is to install the necessary plugins to make WordPress function the way you want it to. The plugins you install will depend on the type of experience you are trying to give your site visitors. For example, if you are using a free WordPress installation, you will need to install a few plugins to give your site the advanced features you may be missing out on.

  • The Visual Composer plugin is a great choice for those who are looking for an easy way to create a fully functional website without needing to know any code
  • The Jetpack plugin is another choice for those who want their site to be mobile-friendly
  • The Awesome Fonts plugin allows you to easily choose and use the best fonts for your site’s design
  • The Visual Effects plugin provides the opportunity to easily add extra touches of polish to your website’s design
  • If you are running a business website, you may want to consider the Business plugin

The plugins you choose should be able to do the following:

  • Improve the user experience on your site
  • Make the site more SEO-friendly
  • Give the site a unique identity
  • And more

If you aren’t sure what plugins to install, start with the ones suggested in the list above. Later on, when you decide your site needs something more, you can search for plugins that fit your needs and install them. Keeping these things in mind when choosing plugins will help you make the right decision for your site and its users.

Your posts can appear in any order, but will be displayed in chronological order by default. You can also choose to display your posts in order of importance (i.e., most recent posts at the top and so on).

To change the way your posts appear on your site, navigate to your site’s Settings panel (it’s found at the top left corner of your WordPress dashboard). You will see options to choose from under the heading “Posts.”

    You can make these changes:

    • The most recent post date at the top
    • Posts to be displayed in order of importance (i.e., most recent posts at the top and so on)

    Curate a Great User Experience

Now that your site is back up and running, you can make some minor adjustments to give it a great user experience. You can do this via WordPress dashboard or via FTP. Just remember these two things:
