How to Reset Forgotten Password on WordPress

You may have visited a WordPress website, and maybe even written a few posts on the platform. For some reason, you may have forgotten the password that was set when you first installed WordPress. In other cases, you might have changed your password and forgotten the previous one. To retrieve your forgotten WordPress password, you can follow the below steps.

Visit Google

The first step to reset a forgotten password on WordPress is to visit Google. When you reach the website, you will need to click the Forgot Password button. A new screen will then appear, where you will need to provide your email address and an optional message. Enter your email address carefully and click the Next button. You will then receive a new password via email and be able to log in to your WordPress account.

If you don’t have an email address associated with your account, you will need to create one. Either way, the next step is to visit the WordPress login page and login using the new password you received via email.

Reset Password

Once you are logged in to your WordPress account, you will need to visit the Users page and click on the button in the top-right corner next to the name of the user you wish to reset. This will take you to the edit user page for that specific user. From here, you can set a new password and email address, as well as change the user’s display name.

If you want to reset the password for the currently logged in user, click on the “Password” button next to the name of the user in the top-right corner. This will take you to the user’s password change screen, where you can set a new password and email address. You will need to use the same email address you used to create your account for the WordPress password reset process.

Change Login Screen

Every time you log in to WordPress, you will see a login screen. This is where you can choose which type of login screen you want to use. You can select from several different options, like a picture of a puppy, a video of a cat being tortured, or a scary monster. Your selection will then be displayed in a box at the bottom of the screen.

If you want a different type of login screen, like something whimsical or funny, you can click on the “Visual Preferences” tab and then select a different avatar. You can also upload an image to replace the current one.

If you forgot your password for WordPress or any other website for that matter, you can use the above steps to reset it. You will then need to create a new password and login with the new credentials. You should change your WordPress password every few months to prevent brute-force password attacks, or when the password of your account on a different website is compromised.
