I Published a Post But It Doesn’t Show Up on My Website WordPress
I have been blogging for several years now and have enjoyed the experience; however, I have recently run into a bit of a roadblock. For some reason, none of my posts seem to be appearing on my website. They are all published and showing up on my social media accounts, but for some reason, none of the posts are showing up on my website. My blog is currently live at https://www.leighhall.com/blog and I have added a lot of content since I published my last post in September 2019. I have republished several of my old posts to make sure that I didn’t lose any of my content along with the redesign of my site.
The Hacks That I Used to Resurrect My Posts
I have been through many troubles with my blog and have learned a lot from the experience. I have used a combination of the following tips (and many others) to get my posts back:
Use Keywords In Your Headlines
This is pretty self-explanatory. If you are wondering why your posts aren’t showing up in searches, it’s because you haven’t used any keywords in your headlines. To fix this, add some keywords in the headlines of your posts. For example, if you are writing about a TV show, you could mention it by name or show title in your article. You can also use the show’s logo as a keyword if it’s relevant to what you are writing about.
Set Up An About Me Page
If you are wondering why your posts aren’t showing up in searches, it’s because you don’t have an about me page. An about me page is like the little bio box that shows up under an author’s name on a blog or website. It’s a place for your readers to learn more about you.
To set up an about me page, simply log in to your WordPress dashboard and click on the “Add New” button in the top right corner. From there, you can click on the “About” tab to get started.
The about me page on my website is pretty basic. I have only included my name, email, and website. If you are wondering about the second point, my website’s URL displays the blog’s posts and pages along with their content. This means that anyone who visits my site will also be reading my blog. Essentially, I am able to drive traffic to my site from my blog.
Redesign Your Website’s Architecture
In addition to setting up an about me page, you should also consider redesigning your site’s architecture. Your site’s architecture is how your site is laid out and how it functions. If you have a typical WordPress dashboard where you can click on different tabs to view different types of content, then you should click on the “Design” tab to get started on the process of redesigning your site.
When you click on the “Design” tab, you will see a number of different layouts that you can choose from. There are also a number of pre-made themes that you can access directly from there.
Make Sure That Your Site Is Mobile-Friendly
If you are wondering why your posts aren’t showing up in searches, it’s because you haven’t made your site mobile-friendly. Fortunately, it’s pretty easy to do. When a person visits your site on a mobile device, the first thing they will see is a massive page with tiny text and no images. It’s not very user-friendly.
To make your site mobile-friendly, you should consider doing the following:
- Reducing the Default Text Size On My Blogger, you can reduce the default text size if you want. When you visit the settings page, you will see a box where you can change the size of the text. Make sure that you choose a size that is readable on a mobile device. If you want, you can also choose the font and color that the text will be displayed in.
- Adding An Image To The Blog Post Adding an image to a blog post makes it much easier for people to understand what you are talking about. Even if someone has heard of the subject matter, it’s often difficult to visualize what they have heard of. Adding an image can help bring some concrete details to the conversation. If you have an image that represents the topic you are writing about, you should definitely add it to your post. You can also find an image that is relevant to the subject matter and add it to your post. When looking for images, you can search using the following keywords:
- wordpress (blogging)
- web design (CSS, HTML, PHP)
- e-commerce (online store)
- seo (Search Engine Optimization)
- affiliate marketing (Amazon/Ebay affiliate marketing)
- retargeting (AdWords, Facebook retargeting)
- targeted advertising (Advertising, Facebook targeted advertising)
- content discovery (Searches, content recommendations)
Use Keywords In Your Excerpts
An excerpt is similar to a teaser in that it is a short bit of text that is often displayed at the top of a blog post. It is usually a quick catch-all for blog posts so that the reader knows what the blog post is about. Keywords can be used in your blog posts and in your excerpts. To find the most relevant keywords for your blog posts and excerpts, you can use free tools like Google Keyword Planner or SEMrush. In addition to finding keywords, these tools can also help you discover local search volume, suggested competitors, and much more.
Use Social Media To Gain More Readers
If you are wondering why your posts aren’t showing up in searches, it’s probably because you haven’t taken advantage of the many social platforms available. You should definitely be present on social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Google+. On these platforms, you can engage with your readers and increase the odds of them finding your site.
The fact is that you can’t directly connect with your readers on social media and get all of the latest news about your industry. It is a massive missed opportunity if you don’t engage with your readers on social media.
By taking advantage of social media, you can find and engage with your target audience. If someone is searching for your product or service, you should definitely be the first result that they see.
Build Better Blogging Relationships
To drive traffic to my site from my blog, I use a tool called Better Blogging Relationships. With this tool, you can connect with other bloggers and create content that is focused on topics that interest both of you.
If a blogger wants to connect with a brand or company, they can create a free account and then apply to be a part of the program. Once approved, they can begin creating content on behalf of the brand or company.
Every month, I get emails from Better Blogging Relationships with new blogs that wanted to be a part of the program.
Once I approved their application, they began creating content for me that was focused on topics that I write about. Since signing up, I have noticed a huge increase in our blog’s traffic.
How to Make Sure that Your Blog Posts Appear On Time
If you are wondering why some of your blog posts aren’t appearing on your site when you publish them, it could be due to the fact that Google’s bots are not able to see some of your posts because they have been deleted by you or a previous administrator.
In order to make sure that your blog posts show up on your site, you should consider using a service like WordPress Scheduler to automate the publishing process. With this tool, you can set up automated publishing at specific times each week. This makes sure that your posts appear on your site at the right time.
