Installing WordPress on NuWeb Hosting

I am happy to announce that WordPress is now available for download on our new host, NuWeb Hosting.

If you have used WordPress before, you will know how powerful it is. With a few simple clicks of a button, you can have your own blog or website. And what’s more, it’s free!

WordPress is a popular content management system (CMS) used by millions of websites across the world. It is very flexible, which makes it very useful for people who want to set up their own blog or website. So much so that WordPress is actually a bit like Google to me because it seems as if there is always a WordPress tutorial or plugin to help you with whatever you might need (and I mean literally everything you might need). So let’s take a quick tour of how to get started with WordPress.

What is WordPress?

WordPress is a free and open-source CMS originally built for blogging. To quote the official WordPress website, “WordPress is a free and open-source publishing platform that you can use to create your own blog or website.”

As the name would suggest, WordPress is essentially a “blogging tool” and as such, it was designed with blogs in mind. However, the fact that WordPress is so incredibly flexible means that it can be used for a variety of different purposes.

This adaptability is another reason why I consider WordPress to be so useful. For example, if you already use WordPress to write and publish your blog post, you can use the same platform to create a store. You can sell and ship products online with WordPress, and it is perfect for digital marketing and social media campaigns.

Additionally, WordPress is completely SEO-friendly, which means that you can use SEO (search engine optimization) tactics to drive more traffic to your site. Finally, WordPress is backed by a powerful and versatile team of developers who are always happy to help when you need it.

Installing WordPress

Installing WordPress is very simple. All you need is a web server, a domain name for your site, and a little bit of WordPress software.

In order to give you the simplest possible guide, we have decided to go ahead and install WordPress on NuWeb Hosting, which is one of the most popular shared hosting platforms. So let’s begin.

Step one: Sign up for a free account on NuWeb Hosting.

Before you begin installing WordPress, you will need to sign up for a free account with NuWeb Hosting. To do this, navigate to NuWeb Hosting and click on the “Get Started” button.

You will then need to enter your email address and choose a password. As you may have guessed, this is where the fun begins. Once you have created your account, you can click on the “Create Blog” button to begin the installation of WordPress.

Step two: Navigate to the WordPress directory and download the latest version.

Now that you have signed up for a free account with NuWeb Hosting, you can navigate to the WordPress directory and download the latest version. To do this, simply use the following link:

https://wordpress.nuwebhosting.com/

This will bring you to the WordPress homepage, where you can find all of the available WordPress versions (you can select which one you need from the dropdown menu).

Step three: Install WordPress on your server.

Once you have downloaded the latest version of WordPress, you can install it on your server. To do this, simply follow the on-screen instructions or use the following command in your terminal:

sudo mv WordPress-5.0.0-beta1 /opt/bitnami/wordpress/

This will move WordPress to the correct directory (make sure you’re in the right directory before continuing). Once installed, login to your WordPress dashboard by using the “admin” user name and password you provided when you signed up for the free account.

Step four: Test your new WordPress installation.

Once you have installed WordPress, you can test it by using the following URL:http://yourname.com/

This will bring you to the WordPress Dashboard screen. If you see the following message: “Welcome to WordPress!”, you can rest assured that everything went well and you can now begin creating your blog or website.

Why use NuWeb Hosting?

One of the reasons why we chose NuWeb Hosting is because they provide 24/7 support, which is something that cannot be said for all web hosts. Additionally, their customer service is very efficient, which is also worth noting. Finally, they offer a money-back guarantee if you meet the right conditions. So let’s take a quick look at what those conditions are.

Location-based restrictions

One of the biggest drawbacks of most web hosts (including NuWeb Hosting) is the fact that they put location-based restrictions on what you can and cannot do with your free account. For example, if you are located in China, you cannot install a commercial theme on your site. So if you run a clothing blog, you would not be able to use a theme with a retail storefront on your website. NuWeb Hosting does away with these restrictions, which is one of the main reasons why we decided to give them a try.

Flexible pricing

Another positive aspect of opting for a web host that is flexible in terms of pricing is that you do not have to commit to a long-term contract. So if you are looking for a blogging platform that does not cost a fortune, then NuWeb Hosting is the perfect option because you can try it for free for a while and then decide whether or not to continue using it.

Creating your first blog or website with WordPress

How to Create a Blog or Website With WordPress

In order to create a blog or website with WordPress, you will first need to find a spot in your home for it. Finally, you can use the following link to get started:

Once you have created your blog or website, you can begin customizing it with a variety of plugins that are available. Doing this can give your site a totally different look and feel, which is great if you are trying to change the way your site handles advertising or works with affiliate programs.

There are literally thousands of WordPress plugins available, so if you are looking for a specific feature, you can almost certainly find it online.

If you are completely new to WordPress, I would advise against using plugins while you are first getting the hang of it. Too many plugins can cause performance issues and security risks. So, for now, try to do your blogging manually and only use plugins when you absolutely have to. This will make your site more stable and secure.
