One Page Scrolling Website Theme with Free WordPress
Hello, and welcome to my website!
I’m Ramona, and I created this blog to share my love of photography, graphic design, and all things pretty.
I designed this website using WordPress, a free CMS that makes it easy to set up a professional looking blog or website in no time at all. Plus, it’s incredibly popular, so there’s a lot of support available if you need help along the way. Or if you’re just getting started, you’re sure to find a lot of resources and tutorials to help you along the way.
Why a Single Page Design
I wanted to create a unique design that would draw people into the content of my website, and keep them reading and engaging with my content. A lot of my design inspiration came from vintage postcards and newspaper cut-outs that I found on Pinterest. There’s something about scrolling through beautifully designed content that makes you feel like you’re on a holiday, without leaving the comfort of your home.
From a website design standpoint, I like the clean white space and large, generous photographs that are scattered across the page. Also, I feel that a single page design is ideal for a photography blog, since you don’t have to think about how to design the page around text and images. You just have one large, glorious photograph.
If my blog had a lot of text, I might have designed it with an accordion style layout so that I could scroll through my articles with ease. But with only a few paragraphs of text on my regular posts, I feel that the single page design works just as well.
Features
WordPress comes with a lot of features that make managing and styling your website easier than ever before. To name a few, you get advanced custom fields, which makes creating custom forms for your visitors extremely easy. You can also use the WordPress dashboard to view and update the content on your website without needing to log in to your admin area.
WordPress also gives you the freedom to change the theme layout and design of your website without needing to hire a web designer. So if you’re looking for a quick and easy way to make your blog or website look unique and professional, then WordPress is the perfect fit.
Last but not least, WordPress comes with a lot of pre-designed templates that you can use to get started quickly. If you’re looking for a completely blank slate upon which to build your website, then these templates are perfect for you.
Getting Started
Installing and setting up a WordPress website is incredibly easy. You can use the automated step-by-step tool that WordPress provides, or you can do it manually. Just visit the WordPress website, and click on the Get Started button to begin the process.
From there, you’ll be guided through four simple steps to set up your WordPress blog. After you’ve completed the steps, you can log in to your WordPress dashboard and begin styling and customizing your website. You don’t need a web designer to do this, but it’s still a good idea to hire one if you’re looking for extra help.
WordPress is so easy to use that even the most inexperienced web designer can set it up in a matter of hours. Plus, it’s completely free, which makes it an ideal choice for any type of website. Whether you have a personal blog or large corporate website, WordPress is the perfect platform.
