How to Add Search Terms to Your Website

You’ve been dreaming about this day for as long as you can remember. The day you’ll finally be able to leave your day job and follow your dreams

That day has finally come! You made the right decision and managed to convince your boss to let you take a sabbatical. You’re not going to waste one second of your sabbatical learning how to code. Instead, you’re investing in a web development studio that you founded. Your dream is to create a profitable website that you can eventually turn into a money-making venture.

Do you ever find yourself browsing through the web and wondering where you can find the product or service you’re looking for? More and more people are turning to the internet to help them solve their problems. According to HubSpot Blogs, “82% of Gen Z (born 1995-2004) go to the internet for answers and support.”

If you’re finding it difficult to navigate the internet for the products and services you need, then you need to take matters into your own hands. The good news is you can easily add search terms to your website to make it easier for your readers to locate the content they’re looking for. In this blog post, we’ll teach you three ways to effectively add search terms to your site.

1. Meta Descriptions For Product Pages

Have you ever shopped for a product and arrived on the page with no descriptions at all? Chances are, you’ve experienced this before. Product pages that lack meta descriptions are often overlooked by Google. When a product page is overlooked by Google, it means that the content is irrelevant to keywords and phrases that a user might enter into a search bar. Meta descriptions are extremely important; they help guide a reader to quickly decide whether or not to click on a product.

To avoid the inconvenience of a lost sale, make sure to include meta descriptions on all of your product pages. If you’re using Shopify to build your eCommerce store, adding meta descriptions to your product pages is as simple as clicking on the “Product” tab and then choosing from the drop-down menu to edit a product’s description. From there, you can add a meta description that will appear on product detail and search result pages.

2. Product Keywords

Even if you’ve included meta descriptions on your product pages, you should still add keywords to your products’ titles and descriptions. When a user enters a keyword to search for something, they want to be presented with relevant results. In the event that your product is somewhat unique and doesn’t fit the typical keywords, your product won’t appear in the results when a user searches using those keywords.

To find the products that are most relevant to your keyword, visit the Google Shopping app and enter your keywords into the search bar. You can then see a list of products that match your keyword, along with prices and shipping information. If you’re deciding to buy the product, you can click on the “Add to cart” button to go to the checkout page. If you need more help deciding which products to buy, you can also contact the store directly from the app.

3. Product Images

A large percentage of new business owners realize the importance of having a strong brand identity when creating a brand new product or service. When someone visits your website, they should be able to determine in a glance that your website is, in fact, related to the product or service you’re selling. Having a strong brand identity doesn’t necessarily mean you should avoid using images of other products, it just means you should make sure that the images of those other products are relevant to what you’re selling. So, if you sell bed sheets, and you have another brand that makes kitchen towels, but the bed sheets you posted on your website are of high quality, the user will understand that your website is, in fact, related to the bed sheets you’re selling.

To effectively add search terms to your site, you must add these three elements: meta descriptions, keywords, and product images. By adding these three elements, you’ll put yourself in a better position to be found by those searching for your products or services. You can use a free tool like Google Keyword Planner to help you find the right keywords for your content.
