How to Create a Subscription Box Website Using WordPress

Introduction

If you followed my previous tutorial on how to start a fashion e-commerce store, you’ll know that I cover the basics of setting up a website to sell your own branded goods. In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to take it a step further and use WordPress to create a subscription box website.

Setting Up The Subscription Box Website

The first step is to register a domain name for the site and download the WordPress program from WordPress.

You can use a free domain name through one of the many registrars like GoDaddy, Enom, or Namecheap. You’ll need to know how to use WordPress to set up the site. If you’re new, check out my previous tutorial on how to create a WordPress blog for a better understanding of what’s going on.

Adding The Subscription Box To Your Shopify Store

If you’re using Shopify, the first thing you should do is log into your account and navigate to Settings. Under Shipping & Payment, click on Add a subscription product.

From here, you’ll see three options. First is the name of the product you’ll be including in your subscription box. Second is the unit price. You’re selling a subscription to the product, so you want to make sure you set the price right. Finally, you can select whether or not you want to limit the number of units per customer. If you’re worried about running out of an item before the end of the month, this is an option you might want to consider.

Once you’ve set up your subscription box, you can choose from a variety of different delivery methods.

You can use free shipping if you’re starting out, but be aware that you’ll need to pay for each product you sell. You can either set up a payment plan or pay for all the items at once using a credit card.
