How to Add a Show Loading Icon to Your WordPress Website
WordPress is the world’s #1 content management system and one of the most popular platforms for online stores. It is extremely versatile and can be used to set up just about any type of website or online store you can think of. But, what if you want to add a little more polish to your WordPress store?
You can add multiple stores from one WordPress installation. However, each store needs to have its own online presence, including a website and a Facebook store. The problem is, once you have published all these websites you have to keep track of all the different URLs because they can all potentially point to the same place.
To simplify this process, you can use a service like Guardly to generate unique, clickable URLs that you can then use with your existing WordPress stores. In this article, we’ll tell you how to add a Guardly show icon to your WordPress website so you can quickly and easily navigate to your store’s specific pages without having to maintain different URLs.
The Basics
Before we get started, let’s go over some of the basics. First, you will need a WordPress website. We will be assuming you already have one set up. Next, you will need to grab the Guardly app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. And last but not least, you will need to create an account with Guardly.
Once you have all of that set up, continue with the steps below.
Step 1.
Go to your WordPress dashboard and click on Apps on the left side of the screen. You will notice you have a choice of several apps to install from there. Click on the Guardly app to access its website.
Step 2.
Once you are on the Guardly website, click on the big red + icon in the top right to create a free account. Type in a username and password and then click on the Create Account button. You will then be brought to the Settings page where you can configure your account.
Step 3.
From the Settings page, you will need to click on the blue Store icon to create a new store. Type in a name for your new store and then click on the Create Store button. You will then be brought to the Store Dashboard where you can configure the look and feel of your store.
Step 4.
Once you are on the Store Dashboard, you can add products to your store by clicking on the + icon in the top left. Type in a product name and then click on the Add Product button. You will then be brought to the Product Page where you can configure the price, description, and tax class for your product.
Step 5.
Once you have added all your products to your store, go back to the Store dashboard and click on the blue Edit icon next to the name of your store. Here you can edit the metadata (information about your store) such as the name, description, and pricing for your store. To make the name of your store more memorable, you can add a tagline or a slogan.
Step 6.
You can also add links to your store’s website and social media accounts from this page. For the sake of this tutorial, let’s add the Shopify link to your store’s website. To do this, click on the blue Website icon and then type in the URL of your store’s website. Click on the Go To Website button to continue to the next step.
Step 7.
You will now be brought to the Store Homepage where you can see all the products you have in your store. As a store owner, you can edit the store’s look and feel by clicking on the blue icon in the upper right. You can configure your store to display products from multiple categories or sub-categories. For example, you can create a fashion store and display products from multiple fashion brands (e.g., Burberry, Dior, and Versace) within one store.
Step 8.
You can also add products to your store from the Blog section. To do this, click on the blue Blog icon and then click on the pencil icon to start a new blog post. Type in the name of your blog and then click on the Write Blog Post button.
Step 9.
Now that you have started a blog post, return to the Shopify dashboard. From here you can add products to your store. To do this, click on the plus sign in the top left and then click on the Product button. You will then be brought to the Product page where you can configure the price, description, and tax class of the product.
Step 10.
You can also preview the blog post you have just published. To do this, click on the green Preview icon in the top right of the Shopify dashboard. To view your blog post, click on the orange ellipsis (…) button next to the post title.
Step 11.
You now have a fully featured WordPress store with a Guardly show icon that you can use to navigate to different pages of your store. To edit a product, click on the image of the product in the top left corner of the dashboard to preview it on a larger scale.
To preview your blog post, click on the green Preview icon in the top right of the dashboard.
To delete a product, click on the trash icon (…) next to its name in the top left of the dashboard.
To publish a product, click on the orange Publish button in the top right of the dashboard.
To edit metadata (e.g., name, description, and price) of a product, click on the pencil button next to its name in the top left of the dashboard.
To add more products to your store, either click on the plus sign in the top left of the dashboard or the green Store icon on the left side of the screen.
