Step two: Create a document template in Excel
When you open Excel, you’ll see a colorful splash screen with a series of tiles urging you to “Click to Create.” Once you click that button, you’ll be presented with a blank sheet of paper — the Excel document template. Advanced Features of Designing With Excel
Once you’ve followed the four steps to design your WordPress website, you can go back and make some minor edits to the document. However, for the most part, you need to start from scratch and follow the steps again. There are a few advanced features in Excel that will make the task of designing your website a little easier. Let’s take a look:
The Insert tab
To start, click on the “Insert” tab in the top of the Excel screen to bring up a selection of different tools that you can use to design your WordPress website. You’ll notice that there are many different shapes, colors, and gradients for you to choose from when creating a new document. This tab also provides you with various templates that you can use to get started. The best thing about these templates is that they’re already formatted for you to simply edit them with your own information.
Excel provides a ton of tools for you to use when designing your website. It’s a good place to start if you’re not familiar with tools like Adobe Photoshop or CorelDRAW. These templates are already set up for use within the Microsoft Office suite, which makes them even more convenient for use with Excel. Once you’ve opened up Photoshop or CorelDRAW and created a new document, you can click the “File” tab and then select “Open” from the drop-down menu.
The Custom Shape tool
You can use the Custom Shape tool in Photoshop to create any type of shape you can think of. It’s a great tool for creating geometric shapes or organic forms. You can use the direct Select tool to draw along any pre-existing shape you’ve created using the Custom Shape tool. For example, you can use the Custom Shape tool to create an organic heart shape and then use the Select tool to draw around it. The direct Select tool is incredibly useful when you need to draw a perfect circle or square in your document. It is not, however, the best tool for drawing irregular shapes like hearts and stars because it is difficult to place the cursor where you need it to be when you’re using it to draw an organic shape.
You can use the Direct Select tool with the Custom Shape tool in Photoshop to create an organic heart shape. Then, you can use the Brush tool to add some texture to it.
The Gradient tool
Another useful tool in the Insert tab of Excel is the Gradient tool. This tool simplifies the process of creating linear gradients across multiple colors. To use the Gradient tool, simply click on it and then click and drag across an area of the screen to spread the color. You can use the Eyedropper tool to sample the color you’re spreading.
