Which One is Better for Your WordPress Website?
In case you’re wondering, this post is going to be comparing three of the most popular and proven affiliate marketing tools, all of which are tools that I personally use and recommend. In order to make the comparison easier, the tools have all been used in the same way – to create a free WordPress website with no money down.
What is affiliate marketing? Put simply, affiliate marketing is when you promote a product or service and earn a commission when someone clicks a link or buys a product that was promoted by your website. There’s a lot more to it than that, but it’s a good starting point.
Commission Junction vs. WooCommerce vs. Shopify
The first and most popular tool to help you set up an affiliate marketing campaign is Commission Junction. Simply enter your website’s email address and the email address of a collaborator (someone you’ve signed up to assist you with your campaign), and you’ll be given a login to your account. You’ll then be able to set up your account and get to work.
The great thing about Commission Junction is that they’ve done all the hard work for you. Setting up an account is a matter of pressing the button below, and you’ll be automatically thrown into a quick tutorial that will walk you through the steps to begin promoting products and services.
Another popular option is WooCommerce, which stands for “WordPress eCommerce”. Like Commission Junction, WooCommerce is also a tool that helps you set up an affiliate marketing campaign from scratch. To use WooCommerce, you’ll need a WordPress website and a way to collect payments (through a merchant account, if you don’t want to use your own credit card). Once you’ve got that set up, all you have to do is log in to your WooCommerce account and click “Products” in the upper right corner. From there, you can begin building your store.
Last but not least, we have Shopify. Shopify is a platform that allows you to build your own online store. It is super easy to use and allows you to drag and drop products from vendors like Amazon, eBay and many more.
While WooCommerce and Commission Junction provide you with everything you need to get started, Shopify does as well, with the exception of integrating with a payment processor (the two platforms connect seamlessly to provide you with a fully functioning store in no time).
Which One is Better for Your WordPress Website?
The answer to this question really depends on which one you prefer. If you want to go with a well-known and trusted name in the industry, then you should definitely go with WooCommerce, as it has the most active user base and the most feature-filled marketplace. However, if you want to keep things more cost-efficient, then you should choose Commission Junction. Both have their perks, so it really comes down to personal preference.
