How to Host Your WordPress Site with Zoho Hosting
WordPress is one of the most popular content management systems (CMS) around today, with a community of over 300 million users. It’s no wonder why – not only does it offer incredible functionality with a simple drag and drop interface, but it’s also very easy to use. In fact, since its launch in 2005, WordPress has never been this easy to use. Now that’s impressive.
But hosting a WordPress site isn’t as easy as it might seem. Especially, if you’re just getting started and don’t have a lot of experience. That’s why I’ve compiled this guide: to help you find the simplest way to get your WordPress site up and running on the web.
Zoho Hosting is a web host that makes it easy to get your WordPress site up and running. Not only do they provide the software you need to get started, but they also have some awesome staff that are always available to assist you. If you’re looking for a reliable web host that also makes setting up your WordPress site easy, then check out Zoho Hosting.
The Basics
One of the things that makes setting up a WordPress site difficult is figuring out what kind of hosting to use. You have a few options here: Shared hosting, Virtual Private Servers (VPS), and dedicated hosting. Let’s take a look at each one.
Shared hosting works much like regular hosting – you get a free domain and you can install WordPress to start publishing content. The only difference is that when multiple people visit your site, all of them will share the same space on the server. This is the cheapest and most popular option among web hosts and it typically offers the lowest quality website traffic. Keep in mind, too, that as the number of site visitors increases, so does the likelihood of your site being hacked. Unless you have an experienced webmaster taking care of the site for you, I wouldn’t recommend this option.
Virtual Private Servers (VPS) is similar to shared hosting but instead of sharing a server with multiple websites, you have your own dedicated server. The advantage to this is that you get the speed of a dedicated server (usually) with the added security of only having your site and its visitors on that server.
Dedicated hosting, as the name suggests, is just what it sounds like – you get your very own server, which you can use to host your WordPress site. You don’t share this server with any other sites so the speed is unparalleled and the security is very high. The downside, however, is that this is the most expensive option and it requires a lot of experience to set up and manage a successful website on a dedicated server.
Choose A Hosting Plan
Once you know what kind of hosting you need, you can choose a hosting plan that matches your needs. Shared hosting comes with a free domain and the installation of WordPress, so you don’t have to invest in a custom domain to start publishing content. The downside is that you’ll have a limited amount of storage, as well as bandwidth, which is the amount of data you can transfer across the web at any given time. Shared hosting also allows you to install multiple sites on a single server, which can lead to competition and jealousy among the sites. If this is a concern for you, then shared hosting might not be the best option.
On the other hand, VPS hosting provides you with a dedicated server with incredible storage and bandwidth and it also allows you to install multiple sites on the same server. The downside, however, is that setting up a VPS is not as simple as setting up a shared hosting server and, like dedicated hosting, it requires experience to manage a VPS successfully. If you have little to no experience in web administration, then VPS hosting might not be the best choice for you.
Install WordPress
Once you’ve decided on a host, it’s time to install WordPress. Thankfully, even the most basic implementation of WordPress is pretty easy these days. Just follow the onscreen instructions. When the installation is complete, you’ll be given the option to select a theme for your site – this will determine the appearance of your site. If you’re looking for an easy way to quickly create a professional looking blog or website with little to no experience, then WordPress is the CMS for you.
Activate The Service
Once WordPress is installed, you need to activate the service. This will give you the ability to publish content to your blog. Just click on the word “Activate” and you will see a message explaining what you need to do. When you’re done, just click on the button that says “I have activated my account”. Now you’re ready to use WordPress to publish content and start your blog!
Create Your Blog
You now have a blog! Yay! To add more content to your blog, just click on the “Add New” button located at the top right corner of any WordPress page. From here, you can add more blogs or pages for your site. You can also rearrange the order of the blogs or pages on your blog.
If you’re looking for an easy way to create a professional looking blog or website, then WordPress is the CMS for you. Not only does it make setting up a new site simple, but you can use it to manage all the content on your site too. Not a very busy person? No problem. You can use WordPress to keep track of all your work and projects, to write up all the news and announcements for your site, or to manage your social media accounts. WordPress makes content management easy and accessible for everyone.
